An interesting news clipping from the Warder and Dublin Weekly Mail, 24 June 1865, detailing an inquest into the death of barrister Edward Johnstone following an after-court visit to the Turkish Baths in Lincoln Place, Dublin. The Turkish Baths (image above, from the 1860s, via Wikipedia) were a key feature of late 19th century Dublin and often come up in legal proceedings of the period. The reference to Mr Johnstone as Esquire. was usual for barristers of that time; debate raged as to whether solicitors were also entitled to refer to themselves by that term.
